Welcome to the MacDowell Library LibGuides. These guides provide access to the numerous resources that are available to the Rivers Community. Many of the guides are created in collaboration with faculty members to support an assignment or research report. We have 49 databases, digital access to The Boston Globe, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
As a resident of Massachusetts, you can apply for an eCard from the BPL. This provides access to multiple databases and other resources. Once you have an eCard, you will be able to check out eBooks under the Books and more tab.
The Rivers School subscribes to numerous databases that support the curriculum and personal interests. Some are broad in scope and some have a more focused collection. Database content includes newspapers, magazines and journals, reference sources, images, and other primary sources. For a full A-Z list, click here. Rivers is a community of readers! MacDowell Library has both an extensive fiction collection, including Young Adult books. Our non-fiction books support the curriculum and school-wide initiatives, as well as books of topical interest. There are Middle and Upper School book clubs, as well as a recently launched Faculty and Staff Book Group.
